HOW MUCH TO APPLY FOR
When applying for a Federal Stafford Loan or a Private Loan you will need to submit a separate Loan Application/Promissory Note or Loan Request Form for each semester you wish to request financial assistance. Federal regulations stipulate that your financial aid may only be processed up to the amount of tuition related expenses (tuition, fees, books) at St. Thomas University. Tuition and fees for the 2006-2007 academic year are:

Tuition $675.00 per credit per semester
Fees $1,500.00 per trimester
Electronic Books & Materials $225.00 per course
(required to be purchased from publisher)

Allowances have been made to include up to 3% student loan fees
Some lenders may charge fees exceeding 3%, which will reduce the amount of your loan disbursement.
All unpaid balances on a student’s account is the responsibility of the student
Budget Adjustments may be possible for reasonable educational related expenses with proper documentation.

Please be sure to indicate on your Loan Request Form the term for which you are applying. Your loan period is determined by the start date and end date of the semester for which you are requesting aid. Funds for each semester will be disbursed by the lender in two equal installments one at the beginning of the semester and one at the mid-point of the semester. All loan proceeds will go towards your tuition costs unless your St. Thomas University account reflects a credit balance in which case a refund check will be mailed to you or directly deposited into your personal bank account.
